The second studio album by Vadim Surkov. Eight tracks blending neoclassical, ambient, and author's song in a meditation on the nature of time.
Total duration: 36:07
The album "Time Travel" was created over two years, from first sketches on the road to final studio mixing. Each composition is a stop in an imaginary journey through different eras and states.
Both acoustic instruments (piano, cello) and field recordings were used — ticking of old clocks, sound of rain, voices of train stations. This gives the album a special texture and a feeling of authenticity.
The main question explored by the music: how do the past, present, and future exist simultaneously in our consciousness?
"The cello part for 'Mirrors of Epochs' was recorded in an abandoned 18th-century manor — the acoustics of those walls gave exactly the sound I was looking for. Time seemed to have frozen in those vaults."
