The third studio album by Vadim Surkov. A return to origins and simultaneously a step into a new sound. Minimalism, light, and space — in eight compositions that become a point of support.
Total duration: 37:47
"Starting Point" was born during a period of reevaluation. After two travelogue albums, I wanted to stop, look back, and ask myself: what really matters?
The album was recorded in unusual conditions — part of the material was created during a trip to Lake Baikal, part in an empty apartment overlooking the night city. The contrast between infinite nature and urban solitude gave the polarity that is heard in every composition.
This is the most personal work. There are almost no field recordings or external effects — only piano, cello, and voice.
"I sat on the shore of Lake Baikal in complete silence and suddenly realized: the starting point is not the beginning of the journey. It's the moment when you stop running and just listen. To yourself. To the world. To the silence."
